Walk to Cure Psoriasis
Dear friends and family,
I am asking for your help with a cause that means a lot to me - the Walk to Cure Psoriasis. For the past four months I have had the pleasure of teaching one amazing young woman affected by this disease, Lauren Henschel. Her fight with psoriasis has only served to incite Lauren to help others in her community. She has accomplished the amazing task of creating a fundraising walk for the National Psoriasis Foundation, the first ever in the nation. Since that time, she has inspired the initiation of over nineteen walks across the nation and raised over $2 million. It is both admirable and impressive that a seventeen year old can make such a broad reaching impact. Her goal is to make a difference in the lives of others and has pledged her dedication until a cure is found. A child so selfless and compassionate personally humbles me.
The purpose of this walk is to increase awareness about psoriasis, while raising money for psoriasis education, advocacy and research. According to the National Institutes of Health, as many as 7.5 million Americans have psoriasis. I am asking you to help me make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease.
I hope you will support my efforts to improve the lives of those affected by psoriasis, either by joining my team and committing to help me raise funds, or through your sponsorship. I am asking for a contribution of $25; however, any amount will be greatly appreciated. To learn more about the Walk and the National Psoriasis Foundation, please visit www.psoriasis.org/walk.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
